Chilling at the house

The house in Supetar had a nice covered outdoor table where we could rest in the shade.

I learnt how to play blackjack turning my recent trip to Vegas, so I taught Strange Panda how to play. I think he got a little confused about the goal though, as he just liked getting lots and lots of cards.

Beach picnic

On day we packed some food and had a picnic by the beach.

The beach was a bit rocky, just like this wall.

Squid Friend

I found some friendly squid-shaped rolls in a bakery in the village.

As a fellow water-dwelling animal, I was able to strike up a good conversation about the local sea.

Unfortunately Strange Panda decided to eat my new friend, so there is no new nanimal joining us.

Sleepy time

Even when it wasn't so hot, we tended to stick around the house.

And we followed our natural nesting tendencies - since everyone knows pandas like to build nests to sleep in.

Hot hot hot

We stayed in a village called Supetar on the island of Brac. It was really hot there (over 30 degrees)!

Mom made sure we stayed very hydrated because it was so hot.

But napping in the air-conditioned indoors proved the best defense against the heat in the end.

Riding the ferry

After Dubrovnik we took a 9 hour ferry ride to Split.

It was very windy during the ferry so we had to stay tucked away safely most of the trip.

Occasionally Mom took us out to see the scenery too, especially when it was warm and sunny.

Central Europe - Here we come!

In true fashion Strange Panda and I started our trip through Central Europe with a nap in Dubrovnik.

Jet lag

Unfortunately I'm suffering from a bit of jet lag, and I'm up in the middle of the night. Monkey and Plato are sleeping peacefully so I don't want to wake them. I've made myself a nice cup of warm hot chocolate bug juice. I didn't want to use the nanimal mug as I want my image to stay perfect on it.

Going home

It was even more crowded on the way home since Plato was there too. Thankfully Dad had Monkey brush his teeth so his breath didn't smell so bad.

What we did during the conference

Dad was very busy with the conference, so we had to keep ourselves busy. Plato and I read iWoz, the book by Steve Wozniak, one of the founders of the apple. We both think it is a delicious fruit, so we were keen to hear about it. Neither one of us knew so much technology went into an apple. Monkey mostly drank lots of banana and orange juice from his new thermas.

Monkey also made lots of expensive international calls back home. I hope Dad doesn't find out.

Plato and I looked up some interesting subjects on Wikipedia.

Weepul comes to play

Dad managed to find a weepul as part of a competition at the conference, so it came to stay in our hotel room for awhile.

Stowaway

While Dad was out and about exploring Las Vegas, I started unpacking the suitcase. Who did I find had snuck in but my fellow platypus, Plato. He's such a little rebel stowaway!

Monkey was glad to see Plato as well, so we all spent the rest of the day cuddling and sleeping in bed. It's now a brown nanimal trip.

Going to Las Vegas

Dad had a conference in Las Vegas, so Monkey and I decided to go with him, so he wouldn't be lonely. It did mean having to cram ourselves into his carry-on though, as the university had neglected to buy tickets for us. It wouldn't have been so bad if Monkey didn't have such strong banana-breath all the time.

I had some trouble buckling my seat belt in the plane.

Monkey's opposable thumbs helped him fasten his safety belt properly. Afterwards he was able to help me fasten mine better.

Finally, after almost a whole day of travelling we arrived at our new temporary home, the big bed on the left.

Finished mugs

The finished versions of the first ever Nanimal commemorative mug! Aren't we great?

Unfinished mugs

Here's me on a mug that Dad made at work as part of well-being week. I'm jumping up to eat Monkey's banana.

There's Bill jumping to get a basketball too.

And the sirotans are enjoying a little heart. These are pictures before the mug was fired.
